Troubleshooting Samsung Galaxy S8 that is not charging

As the owner, you should take a while to troubleshoot your telephone to know whether the problem is just a minor glitch in the hardware or system or if it really needs to be replaced. Don’t worry, we don’t suggest things that may mess up your phone even more and considering the fact that you may have just gotten the device, time is of the essence because generally stores only provide a 7-day replacement period for faulty phones. So, here is what you need to do…

Step 1: Be sure you’re using the first charger and USB cable

Your Galaxy S8’s charger comes with a flexible rapid charging capability and is designed specifically for the model. It is imperative that you charge your phone using its initial charger and data cable. At least, it immediately rules out the possibility that the problem is due to a charger problem, even though we also need to check the charger for some difficulties. Don’t worry, however, you simply need to perform bodily check.

Try to look into the vent of this charger to determine if there is some kind of debris, lint or rust that hinders appropriate contact of these connectors. When there’s none, then check the cable. You have to physically check both ends for things which also block the straps. If you can not find any and if the phone still has enough battery left, then try to link your phone to a computer to discover if the computer detects it since if so, the cable is fine and if the phone is charging, then it’s a charger issue. In this case, the only thing that must be replaced is the charger and not the phone.

If the telephone isn’t detected from the phone rather than charging when attached to it, then proceed to the next step.

Measure 2: Rule out the possibility that the Issue Is Brought on by a glitch or system crash

This step is quite important especially if the phone already has a black screen and will not respond if the power key is hit. When the system crashes, the phone gets unresponsive and regardless of what you do, it won’t react not to the charger. However, there’s 1 method you can do this will bring the phone back into life:
Press and hold down the Volume and Power buttons together for 7 minutes. Assuming that the firmware crashed and there’s sufficient battery to power up everything, your device should reboot normally and if it does, it might also charge. If, however, the phone is still not charging and won’t power up, the battery may have been emptied. In which case, try to plug the phone and do then press and hold the Volume Down and electricity keys for 7 seconds to find out if the phone boots up.

After doing this and the telephone remains powered off and will not charge, you then can do nothing about it . You have to bring it back into the shop and get it replaced. In the event the phone is still powered on, then continue tracking.

Step 3: Twist in safe mode and attempt charging

You merely have to perform this step if the phone is still powered on and is able to reboot in safe mode. This measure does is rule out the chance that the cause of the issue is one or some of those third-party apps you installed. When in safe mode, all installed apps will be temporarily disabled, therefore if the not charging difficulty is caused by them, the device should charge correctly while in protected mode.

This is how you start your telephone up in diagnostic state:

Switch off the device.

When”SAMSUNG” appears on the display, release the Power key.

Continue to maintain down the Volume key until the system finishes restarting.

Publish down the Volume key when you see Safe Mode.

Assuming the Galaxy S8 fees while in this mode, then it is confirmed that the issue results from one or a number of those third-party programs. Find the offender and uninstall it but I know it’s easier said than done.

It is just a couple of days since you began using the telephone, you might not have accumulated that much information, so I advise you to backup your important files and information and then reset your phone.

In the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to start the Apps tray.

Harness Settings > accounts and Cloud.

Harness Backup and restore.

If wanted, tap up my data to move the slider to ON or OFF.

If desired, tap Restore to move the slider to ON or OFF.

Harness the back button into the Settings menu and tap General Management > Reset > Factory data reset.

Tap Reset device.

When you have screen lock turned on, then input your credentials.
Tap Continue.

Harness Delete all.

If, however, the phone is not charging even in this mode, then move on to the next step.

Measure 3: Power down your apparatus and charge

Let’s presume the phone still has enough battery to power its parts but will not charge, the next thing you need to do is turn it off and see if it charges that manner because if so, you truly have to reset it to repair the problem.
However, when the charging icon doesn’t show on the display and the LED indicator isn’t lighting up, then it’s not charging even if it’s turned off. Now, it has verified that the phone is afflicted by a hardware problem and for a brand-new phone, there’s no use in continuing your Tracking since it should not be doing so in the first place.

Send or deliver the phone back to the shop and request a replacement. If you are still within the grace period, you may get a brand new unit as replacement.

Measure 4: Change your telephone before returning if possible
This should be done in the event the phone has enough power to do the reset. It’s a necessary procedure to protect your privacy. So, backup your document and data, disable anti-theft feature and go with the reset.
This is the way you disable anti-theft…

  • In the Home screen, swipe up on an empty place to start the Apps tray.
  • Harness Settings.
  • Harness accounts and Cloud.
  • Tap Accounts.
  • Tap Google.
  • Tap in your Google ID email address if multiple accounts are setup. In case you have multiple accounts setup, you will need to repeat these steps for each account.
  • Harness 3 dot icon.
  • Tap Remove account.
  • Tap REMOVE ACCOUNT.
  • And this is how you reset your telephone…
    Switch off the device.

Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.

  • When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will reveal for about 30 — 60 minutes prior to showing the Android system retrieval menu choices ).
  • Press the Volume down key a few times to emphasize”wipe info / factory reset.
    Press Power button to pick.
  • Press Power button to pick and begin the master reset.
  • When the master reset is finished,”reboot system currently” is emphasized.

Fantastic luck with your new apparatus.
